The Feast of Tabernacle
Celebrating God’s Glory!
The Feast of Tabernacles (also called feast of booths) and is also known as the feast of ingathering ex. 23:16.
Celebrating His Glory
The Feast of Tabernacle is a celebration of God’s glory. It’s a time to remember past experiences of His glory. It’s a time to seek His face and experience His glory now. It’s a time to call out to God for a fresh outpouring of His glory in the New Year.
One week a year God asks His people to tabernacle with Him. God promised a special blessing for those who do this
Tabernacle is a time to enjoy the Lord. It is a time to celebrate God’s goodness. Leviticus 23:40 says, ”Rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.” Deuteronomy 16:14-15 says, “Be joyful at your feast for the Lord your God will bless you and your joy will be complete.”
Part of celebrating Tabernacles is to bring an offering as an expression of thanks to God. Deut 16:16-17 says, “No man shall appear before the LORD empty-handed: Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the LORD your GOD has blessed you.” When we express our thankfulness in giving, it opens our heart to receive even more.
As you celebrate Tabernacle, call out to God for his Glory to come and dwell with you. Here are some ways to celebrate Tabernacle:
· Set aside time to “tabernacle” with God
· Find times to meet with Him
· Spend relax times in His Word
· Get together with family and friends.
· Share testimonies of His Goodness
· Eat your favorite foods
· Thank Him for His blessings
· And especially if you have children, build a sukkah (a tabernacle, or temporary shelter).
In God’s presence we find salvation, repentance, empowering, healing, provision, and fulfillment. Most significant experience we have with God take place when HIS glory comes down. God does not want His glory to be a rare occurrence. He wants us to seek His presence, to dwell in His presence, to live with a continual experience of His power and goodness!
