Apostle Hattie is the Founder of Transforming Lives Ministries Inc. (TLM). She is also the Founder of Transforming Lives Community Training Center, which is the community outreach arm of TLM. Apostle started TLM with a passionate zeal to fulfill the desire that God had placed in her heart; she knew the Lord had called her to ministry.
Apostle Hattie served fervently in ministry for over 20 years before being called home to be the Lord. After being a faithful steward who served wholeheartedly, God put an undying passion in her heart to birth out Transforming Lives Ministries in 2005. Through much prayer and consecration, the vision came to pass in September 2006. The doors of the church opened in her home with her first three members (Apostle K and Apostle K’s two children). Her home was the launching pad for her ministry. It was a place of birthing, deliverance, intimacy with the Holy Spirit and radical transformation. After encountering that house, people knew they had been with the Lord.
Apostle’s impact didn’t stop at the doors of Transforming Lives Ministries; her reach extended to television, radio, various religious boards, and the Detroit Police Department (DPD) as a Chaplin. She was a well versed woman and loved by many. Apostle was known for her undeniable love for the Lord and His people. She had a rare love for God that put her in a class all by herself. Her zeal and passion for Him was the driving force behind seeing people set free and transformed. Until her last breath she spoke well of her beloved Jesus. Her love for Him came from her personal encounter with Him. The bible states in Luke 7:47 the NLT version “I tell you, her sins-and they are many-have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.” This scripture sums up Apostle Hattie’s life. God had forgiven her for so much and she loved Him so much for it.
Apostle’s Mother died when she was two days old, being left to be raised by her alcoholic father. She also, went from house to house being raised by others on her journey. As a teen she was known in her neighbor as the “neighborhood weed tester”. People would bring their weed (marijuana) to her to see if it was good or not. From drinking and smoking, to being a drug dealer, Apostle was no Saint. After finding herself in a broken marriage, married to a drug addict, she finally hit her breaking point. Desperate for help, her and her husband turned to the Salvation Army Harbor Light rehab program. There, her husband was supernaturally delivered from drugs and God had radically saved her.
She entered into a remarkable relationship with the Lord from that point on. She spent her life pleasing her Lord and sharing the good news of the gospel to anyone who would listen. God took a woman that was filled with anger and beautifully transformed her into a woman of love. She was the first partaker of the ministry she birthed out. Through God’s amazing grace, her life was completely transformed. Her labor of love still makes a tremendous impact on those she impacted in her lifetime. She left a mark in this Earth that will never be forgotten.
